Performance Analysis and Financial Soundness of the Selected Information Technology Companies in Bangladesh

The rapid advancement of Bangladesh's information technology (IT) sector offerssignificant opportunities for economic growth and development. With the government'sambitious objective of increasing IT export revenue to $5 billion by 2025, a comprehensiveunderstanding of the financial health of IT companies is increasingly critical. This study seeksto evaluate the financial performance and stability of selected IT companies listed on theDhaka Stock Exchange Ltd., providing insights to assist stakeholders in making informeddecisions and enhancing the sector's stability. To this end, the research employs key financialratios—profitability, liquidity, and solvency—to assess company performance. The studyconcentrates on five selected IT companies, conducting an in-depth analysis of their financialstatements to identify trends, strengths, and areas necessitating improvement. By integratingtraditional financial ratio analysis with Altman's Z-score, this research offers a comprehensiveperspective on the financial stability of IT firms in Bangladesh. The findings will illuminatechallenges and opportunities, providing insights into the sector's competitiveness and long-term growth potential. More importantly, the study will offer actionable recommendations forinvestors, policymakers, and industry leaders, equipping them with the knowledge to fosterfinancial resilience and drive sustainable growth. This research contributes to the existingbody of knowledge by specifically addressing the IT sector, a domain of increasing strategicimportance in Bangladesh. As the industry continues to expand, a clear understanding offinancial performance will be instrumental in shaping policies, attracting investments, andensuring that Bangladesh's IT sector remains competitive on the global stage.
